Janet Taylor

Hometown: I grew up in Clarksville, Maryland. Connecticut has been my home for the last 23 years, and I currently live in Winsted with my fun, little family!

My Radio Story: I got into radio sort of by accident. I did a couple of commercials for some local businesses probably a decade ago, and with the help of WZBG, I’ve gotten to do more and more. A year and a half ago I decided to take some voice over classes, “retires” from my full time job, and here I am!

Hobbies: After years of singing into my hairbrush, I now love singing into a mic with the band Potter’s Field. I enjoy most sports, and am taking up golf after years of playing softball….not pretty….but fun! When not singing or exercising, I enjoy writing poetry, walkin’ with the boys, and hangin’ out with my family and friends.

Favorites: My home and family, all kinds of music…(Indigo Girls, The Waifs, Carly Simon, Michael Jackson are/were instrumental in my love of music and where it can take you), I Love Lucy, Let’s Make a Deal, The Price is Right, House Hunters, Cal Ripken, a big, pure belly laugh, the ocean, our couch with the boys!

Little known fact about me: At 16 I was Cinderella at the Enchanted Forest! I love classical music, and totally loved going to school!

My Two Cents: Never settle! I’ve learned that you can have what you want, and you deserve to have what you want if you’re willing to let it in. Open up, clean out the crap, and welcome in life!
